Needless to say, I've never closed curtains faster in all my life.

Strange Happenings Whilst Reading
The strangest thing to ever happen to me when reading a book occured when I was in Berlin, reading Dracula. It was the first time I'd ever read the book (I had it in the bath with me and everything) and I had just read the part where someone (Mina, I think?) hears something beating against her bedroom window and when she looked it was (again, I think) a bat? A few seconds after reading that, there was a beating at the window of my hotel room and I absolutely jumped out of my skin. When I looked over, there was dark outline of some sort of bird perched on the tiny ledge of the windowsill.
